Con el objetivo de conocer las acciones que se realizan en pro de la integración de los migrantes, y las acciones de asistencia que se realizan desde la Corporación Scalabrini, el Alto Representante de la Unión Europea para Asuntos Exteriores, Política de Seguridad y Vicepresidente de la Comisión Europea, Josep Borrell Fontelles, junto a una comitiva de la Unión Europea, Embajada Alemana, GIZ y representantes del Gobierno Nacional visitaron el albergue y conocieron las acciones que allí se realizan a través de los testimonios de los beneficiarios que se encontraban alojados en el CIAMI.
Luego de un recorrido por las calles del barrio Santa Fe llegaron al Centro de Formación Scalabrini en donde conocieron algunos de los cursos que allí se dictan e incluso el alto representante permitió que demostraran los conocimientos adquiridos, además tuvieron una conversación con los beneficiarios y los niños que son acogidos en los espacios protectores.
El encuentro terminó con una conversación en la que se resaltó el trabajo que han realizado los padres Scalabrinianos, la entrega, dedicación y solidaridad y se anunció un nuevo apoyo por parte de la Unión Europea a través de la Embajada Alemana y GIZ. Una oportunidad que permitirá seguir atendiendo a quien más lo necesitan.
A representative of the European Union visits a shelter and training center in Bogotá to learn about actions to assist migrants and announce new support
Intending to know the actions that are carried out in favor of the integration of migrants, and the assistance actions that are carried out by the Scalabrini Corporation, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Security Policy, and the Vice President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell Fontelles, together with a delegation from the European Union, the German Embassy, GIZ and representatives of the National Government visited the shelter and learned about the actions carried out there through the testimonies of the beneficiaries who were staying at the CIAMI.
